平昌オリンピック盛り上がってますね～！
昨日は家族で女子パシュート団体の決勝戦で金メダル獲得の瞬間を見て大興奮でした❤

今日は冬季オリンピック競技で気になったことをまとめてみました。

■スキージャンプ

高層ビルでいう38階相当の高さからスタートするそうです（東京タワーの大展望台が150m）

飛び立つポイント（カンテ）の高さは地上から86mです。

スタートしてからアプローチをおよそ時速90kmで滑走するのはまるでジェットコースターに乗っている感覚に近いとされ、そしてK点である120mの着地時の最高時速は100～120kmと言われています。

そして着地に失敗すると記録は無効になるそうです。

とても過酷な競技と言えますね～😵

■カーリング

失礼ですが一見すべてのスポーツの中で１番ラクそうに見えるな～と思って調べてみました。
なんとバレーボール1試合と同じくらいの体力を消耗するそうです！

そしてストーンのお値段は1セット160万円！！！
「カーリング発祥の地・スコットランド本土から10マイル西の沖に浮かぶ無人島・アルサグレイグ島でしか産出されない特別な花崗岩を使用している」との事です。
そこで採れる石はダメージに強く、同時に繊細な曲がりも可能なカーリングストーンを作ることができるのだそうです。
ストーンは基本的にカーリングホール、あるいは当地のカーリング協会の所有物で国内最大サイズのカーリングホールは6シートあるため、最低でも6セットつまり96個の石が常備されている。それだけで960万円になります！

超高額ですね😵

そして氷をこする「スウィープ」
起源はスコットランドと言われるこのスポーツ。
元々は屋外の湖などでプレーされていたようで、古くはストーンの前のゴミ等を取り除く目的でスウィープが行われていたそう。
その名残で屋内スポーツとして確立された現在も、選手の持つスティックは「ブラシ」と呼ばれているそうです。

■リュージュ

元はフランス語で「木製のそり」という意味だそうです。

■スケルトン
「骸骨(がいこつ)」あるいは「骨組み」を意味することばであり、そりの形状が滑走部と車体のみの単純な構造でつくられていたことから、その名前がついたといわれているそうです。

■ボブスレー
前後左右に振れる（ボブbob）とソリ（スレーsleigh）の意味だそう。

■パシュート
３人１組で先頭の選手がすべての抵抗を受けてスピードを上げながら滑走して後ろの二人は抵抗のない場所でぴったりついて滑走します。
先頭のポジションを交代しあってお互いの体力を温存しながら行い、
タイムは３人１体となったチームの１番最後の選手での記録になるので３人一緒でないと意味がないのです。
